Meeting time: Every Monday for 10 weeks

Are you interested in learning more about law enforcement?

As a member of the Junior Police Academy, the cadets are taught Georgia law, juvenile law, how the judicial system works, crime scene investigations,  gangs (how to avoid), drugs, alcohol, tobacco, driving regulations, criminal investigations, and other subjects related to law enforcement.

The classes last 10 weeks and meet one day a week for approximately 1 and a 1/2 hours after school.  At the end of the academic period, they are required to pass a test covering parts of each weeks’ lessons.

A combined graduation is held for all cadets from each of the middle schools.  Each cadet will receive a certificate of completion and a law enforcement insignia.

  Requirements for participation:
    All grades are welcome
Cadets must maintain a "C" or better average in all classes
Each cadet must agree to and sign a “Code of conduct”
which states that he/she will conduct themselves in an orderly
manner at all times while on school property.

If a cadet's conduct is "unbecoming" or if he/she is suspended from school,
he/she will be removed from the Junior Police Academy program.
