Welcome to a school system where community partnerships exist in order to prepare and educate our future leaders. The Coweta County School System belongs to our community and represents a combined effort of many stakeholders. Our community is an active participant in the educational process and forges new ideas leading toward improved collaboration between business, institutions of higher learning and the Coweta County School System. Those of us serving our students today are carrying the torch of service introduced by many great lifetime Coweta County educators who still reside and serve in our community.

Through strong partnerships with our local Chamber of Commerce, local governments, business owners, institutions of higher learning, and community organizations, the best interests of our students and of our community are served. With local course offerings available from West Georgia Technical College and the University of West Georgia, our students are able to complete college courses as part of their K-12 educational experience. Our learning service delivery model affords students the opportunity to tailor their educational experience to meet their needs and interests.

Setting the tone through collective leadership is the Coweta County Board of Education. These seven citizens give their time, energy and expertise in order to oversee the important work of setting the direction and the policies necessary for successful governance. As one of the first school boards in Georgia to seek and receive district-wide accreditation, the Coweta County Board of Education continues to hold itself and our school system accountable for high expectations and high levels of service. The Coweta County Board of Education was recognized in December 2015 as an Exemplary Board by the Georgia School Board Association (GSBA). This is the highest level of recognition awarded by the GSBA.

As you participate in our school system, you will be among many state and nationally recognized leaders in their respective fields. Coweta County educators have received numerous honors from organizations such as the Georgia School Board Association (GSBA), Georgia Association of Middle School Principals (GAMSP), National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), and the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL). Our Central Educational Center (CEC), serving middle and high school students, was named Georgia’s College and Career Academy of the Year in 2014. Our Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts is a state of the art facility that provides rich experiences for our students and our community. Finally, our thirty-one schools serving students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade offer a wide variety of academic, extracurricular, and educational experiences. Although these accomplishments are impressive, it is the high performance of our students and teachers that anchors our school system. I encourage you to review our system website, as well as each school’s website, for information about the outstanding programs being offered at each of our schools. I am excited about what is happening in our school system, and I anticipate great things to come.
