several community organizations
partner to provide adult educational
services for Coweta County adults at
the Maggie Brown School at 32 Clark
Street in downtown Newnan. A
schedule of weekly services is
provided below.
Services include the General
Educational Development (GED)
program, adult English as a Second
Language (ESL) classes and the
Certified Literate is Coweta’s key
(CLICK), which serves as an umbrella
organization and advocate for
literacy and adult education in our
community.

GED and New Student Orientation
Classes
The GED program offers instruction
and testing covering the areas of
math, science, language arts,
writing and reading and social
studies, in preparation for the five
GED examinations. Students
interested in participating in the
GED program must be at least 16
years of age and not enrolled in
another high school program or
educational facility. There is no
cost to participate, though GED
tests require a base fee. Students
are served on a first-come,
first-served basis.
New students must attend 6 hours of
orientation before attending
classes.
