2009 College Career and Community Night held November 19 at Newnan High School

Newnan High School will host the annual College, Career, and Community Night for all Coweta high school students on Thursday, November 19, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The College, Career, and Community Night is open to any current high school student, and will be held on the Newnan High School campus at 190 LaGrange Street in Newnan.

The fair allows students and their families to network with representatives of participating organizations, obtain career information, discuss employment requirements and opportunities, and ask questions of admissions officials.

Over 100 post-secondary institutions, businesses, and community groups will be in attendance, representing universities, colleges, technical schools, financial services, education, manufacturing, information technology, retail services, engineering, aerospace, telecommunications, health care, pharmaceuticals, food and hospitality services, law enforcement, community and social services, and government agencies and departments.

Participating schools and organizations include the University of Georgia, the University of West Georgia, West Georgia Technical College, the University of Alabama, Georgia Southern University, Berry College, the Georgia Department of Labor, Clear Channel Radio, the American Cancer Society, Georgia Power Plant Yates, the US Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines, West Central Technical College, Piedmont Newnan Hospital and many others.

The annual event is one of the largest of its kind in the area, and was attended by nearly 1,000 students and family members in 2008
